Ellie updates and pictures

The summer flew by and I haven't taken as many pictures as I should have! Here is a quick update of what Ellie has been up to since she has turned 1!! Ellie is 34 inches tall- growing like a weed- she is pretty heavy too. We go back to the doctor in December so I'm not sure of the exact measurements or percentile right now, but compared to her little friends she is pretty tall and wearing 24 months in most stuff; 18 months in the rest. Ellie loves to play with her dolls, crawl through her tunnel, play in her big play house, read books out loud, sing, dance, talk, talk on the phone, wear bracelets and shoes, and go on walks. She is pretty timid and not at all daring- we think this is wonderful. She is definitely a little girl and can be so delicate about some things...she is such a little darling doll. However, I have experienced a few temper tantrums lately! All in all, I feel very lucky to have such a neat, funny and intelligent little person in my life.

Rob and Emily took Elisabeth to her 1st Texans game!! She looks so cute in her little jersey! Rob said she made it until around the end of the 3rd quarter! I was impressed. I think Rob and Emily are really brave and sweet to take her to a game especially when it was pouring rain that day.

So adorable!

Elisabeth has been trying new foods and so far has been doing really well at eating a variety of foods. Occasionally she will show preference for a food but most of the time she is super easy going about it.

Ellie loves to sing and dance in the car! She still uses her pacifier especially if she is getting sleepy like she was here. She is still smiling though, can you tell?

We had a great visit with my sorority sister Meghan- she came to visit from Las Vegas. I think she was pretty smitten with Ellie and vice verse!

Ellie and her friends from the left, Truett Borel (10 months) and Colton & Jackson Smyre (almost 18 months). We all had so much fun at Cathy and Ted's visiting- the kids got along great- Truett should be running around with them in no time!!

Stay tuned for more pictures and updates!!

I cant believe its been one year. One year since Elisabeth Rose entered this world, changing the lives of those nearest to her. She came quickly on the evening of June 10, 2008 and I waited a few excruciatingly painful days to see her and meet her. But once we got home, we bonded instantly. She is my favorite person in the world, and if you have met her, "talked" with her or seen her smile, I'm sure she is one of your favorites too. Even at 5.0 lbs this little girl could light up any room- she has that energy about her and all the expressions to make you laugh! She is just so happy and relaxed! I'm so thankful for Elisabeth, Ellie, pee-poo, pumpkin poodle, Elle Belle, the list goes on and on...and I can not wait to see her grow and learn. I can only imagine what kind of fascinating and fascinated little girl she will become. She is so loved and so blessed by those around her. Yay to us, for this very first year milestone...they(children) really are pretty hard to break!

So here are the recent developments in Ellie's world...

1. We have movement people! That's right, Ellie has been known to take a few steps. But, its not often...yet. She could be in the center of the room and stand up wave her hands in the air and then sit back down again! She could totally walk if she wanted to...she just needs a little confidence.

I, for one am thrilled that Elisabeth doesn't appear to be a dare devil. I remember my parents were constantly worried that my brothers and sister were going to hurt themselves and a lot of the times they did- jumping, climbing, sliding, diving- they were wild and fearless. I was...not.

2. Elisabeth will wave hi and bye to you. I love it- I have been working on this for MONTHS. Also, if you have something she really wants, like a CELL PHONE she will turn her hand and wave it as in gimme, gimme, gimme...its funny. She must have seen somebody do that before?

3. Rob and his parents have taught her the CUTEST thing. They ask her, "How big is Ellie?" and she raises both arms way above her head as if to exclaim- IM SOOO BIG! It is adorable!!

4. Ellie hasn't started speaking yet, but yesterday my mom was giving her some sherbet- and we were all saying yummm, yummm and I swear she said YUM. I think it might be her first word other than Dada and Mama. Which is appropriate I guess, since Ellie can chow down when its time to eat!

The following pics are this morning before I came to work- I woke her up. I had to, I was too excited for her!

Doesnt she look so grown up here? It makes me cry!!

Pool Season

Here are some pics of Ellie with her cousin Lauren in her baby pool!!
